What is Keto Flu?
It’s important to note that if you follow a Keto diet, your body will lose electrolytes. If we don’t add these to our diet, it’s not uncommon to experience “Keto Flu” – thusly named because its symptoms mimic regular flu. These include headaches, fatigue, irritability, nausea, trouble sleeping, and more. It’s important to add the electrolytes that your body is using back into your diet.Â
Personally, I never experienced Keto flu symptoms because I did my research before changing my lifestyle – and I strongly recommend you do the same! The link between Keto flu and electrolyte balance is clear, so be sure to add enough water and electrolyte sources to your diet. These include sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, in the form of food or supplements. And, as always, speak to your doctor before starting anything new.Â
